Has the Challenger been updated?

With an updated design that still pays homage to the models that have come before it, the 2019 Dodge Challenger has a look that's truly unique while still being built off previous designs such as the 1971 Demon and 1970 Dart Swinger with its duel-snorkel hood. The R/T Scat Pack Widebody's fender flares are borrowed from the SRT Hellcat Widebody, which adds 3.5 inches to the total width while driving on 305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires that are mounted 20x11-inch Devil's Rim aluminum wheels. It also features a power-bulge aluminum hood equipped with heat extractors that prior to this were only available on the SRT Hellcat. What's more, the GT RWD and R/T trims have been upgraded so they now come standard with high-performance suspensions.

Is the Challenger powerful?

The most powerful V8 in production is right at home under the hood of the 2019 Dodge Challenger, putting out 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque that lets it explode out of the gate from 0 to 60 in under three and a half seconds. Previously restricted to the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the Hellcat RWD's 6.2-liter HEMI with TorqueFlight 8HP90 8-Speed transmission is just begging for you to press the pedal to the metal and burn some rubber. With the largest supercharger of any production vehicle, the Redeye features boost pressure that's been increased from 14.5 psi to 11.6 psi with two dual-stage fuel pumps, a choice between 2.16:1 or 3.09:1 drive rations, high-strength steel prop shafts, a larger induction air box with dual-snorkel hood, 41-spline half shafts, and driver-side air catcher headlamp air intakes. Other included performance features include Line Lock, launch control and assist, SRT Drive Modes, and Performance pages for the R/T Scat Pack; a new front fascia with integrated splitter, larger sway bars, SRT-tuned chassis with tuned shock absorbers, and stiffer front springs for the R/T Scat Pack Widebody; performance hood with front splitter, steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, enhanced steering, 20-inch Granite Crystal painted wheels, and performance suspension for the R/T and GT RWD models. Other engine options include a 6.4-liter V8 on the R/T 392, 5.7-liter V8 on the R/T RWD, and 3.6-liter V6 on the GT AWD, GT RWD, and SXT RWD.

Is the Challenger safe?

The 2019 Dodge Challenger's priority may be sating your need for speed, but that doesn't make safety any less of a priority for it. The Challenger is equipped with many standard safety features that let you keep your mind on your speed instead of what might happen if things went wrong at those speeds. Included among its safety features are a security system with an ignition disable device, anti-lock brakes, seatbelt pretensioners, stability control, anti-whiplash head restraints, front-impact driver and passenger airbags, overhead airbags, and side-impact airbags.
