2020 Charger Lineup to Expand Meriden CT

The 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat and the Charger Scat Pack are going to be bigger, badder, and faster than ever before thanks to Dodge's new Widebody package. The package will come standard on the SRT Hellcat and will be available as an option for the Scat Pack in early 2020. The new Widebody package expands the width of the two models by 3.5 inches thanks to new integrated fender flares. Not only does the increased width created a more aggressive and assertive look it also increased the performance of the Charger.

The new Widebody package which comes standard on the Charger SRT Hellcat immensely increases the performance numbers of the muscle car. The 3.5-inch wider body allows for new 20-inch by 11-inch Carbon Black forged wheels. These wheels are then outfitted with stickier Pirelli 305/35ZR20 all-season performance tires. The features list of the Widebody package doesn't just stop there though, it continues on to include new electric power steering, SRT-tuned Bilstein three-mode adaptive damping competition suspension, larger sway bars, stiffer springs, retuned shocks, and Brembo brakes.

All the features included in the Widebody package on the SRT Hellcat Widebody allows the muscle car to run an elapsed quarter-mile time of 10.96 seconds. From a dead stop, the SRT Hellcat Widebody can reach 60 miles per hour in as little as 3.6 seconds. On a 2.1-mile long road course, the SRT Hellcat Widebody had a lap time 2.1 seconds faster than the vehicle it is replacing. That means the SRT Hellcat Widebody surpassed the previous model by 13 car lengths per lap.

While the increased performance of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody comes from the new standard features the power still comes from Dodge's monstrous supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat V8 engine. The supercharged engine pumps out a best-in-class 707 horsepower which helps the SRT Hellcat Widebody reach a top speed of 196 miles per hour.

While the Widebody package will come standard on the 2020 SRT Hellcat, 2020 Scat Pack models can be outfitted with the Widebody package. Widebody Scat Pack models feature 20-inch by 11-inch "Devil's Rim" split-five spoke wheels with low-gloss granite finish. The Widebody package for the Scat Pack also includes Pirelli 305/35ZR20 all-season performance tires, Blistein three-mode adaptive damping, upgraded specially tuned suspension, and Brembo brakes.

The Widebody package allows the Scat Pack to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.3 seconds. On a 2.1-mile road course, the Widebody edition pulled eight car lengths on the regular Scat Pack model which equates to a finish that is 1.3 seconds faster. The Scat Pack Widebody also had an elapsed quarter-mile time of 12.4 seconds.
