The Most Powerful SUV Ever
The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat screams onto the scene with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that pumps out an incredible 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. It allows the Durango to reach a top speed of 180 mph and go from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. No SUV on the planet can tow or carry more material faster than the Durango SRT Hellcat as it can tow up to 8,700 pounds. The engine pairs with a smooth Torqueflite eight-speed automatic transmission. This high performance is achieved via a new front fascia design, a new chin splitter, an updated engine oil cooler duct, and an air guide. Also new is a unique rear spoiler, which creates an improved balance with the new front end design.
New Features
Dodge has added some new features to the SRT Hellcat, as well as modern aggressive styling. The Hellcat takes its design cues from the Charger Widebody as it comes with LED low/high headlamps, signature LED daytime running lamps, grille, rear spoiler, and wheel options. Inside the cabin, the SRT Hellcat comes with a new driver-oriented cockpit, which includes a new instrument panel, wrapped and accent-stitched mid-bolster and center console, upgraded door panels, and the all-new Uconnect 5 system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Also new this year is a Tow n' Go package which comes with muscular front and rear fender flares, and black Brembo six-piston brakes, and new drive modes for Track, Snow, Sport, and Towing.
Family Entertainment System
Every SRT Hellcat comes with a family entertainment system in the rear of the vehicle. Special features include a Blu-ray rear-seat entertainment system, including two nine-inch screens, one for each of the front seats. Both screens allow your children to watch movies on both Blu-ray and DVD and even play their gaming systems due to the HDMI and RCA cables integrated into each screen. Additionally, the Uconnect 5 system comes with tons of entertaining apps, including a SiriusXM with 360L, which offers a premium listening experience. The all-new wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide users with access to messages, phone, and Apple and Google play music. You also get access to Amazon Alexa with access to podcasts and audiobooks.
Race Technologies and Safety Features
Coming standard on the SRT Hellcat is a variety of race-inspired technologies that help improve the performance of the Durango. The first is a Launch Control system that is easily accessed via a toggle switch in the cockpit. This system helps to manage tire slip while simultaneously launching the vehicle and allowing the driver to maintain straight-line acceleration. Also included is Launch Assist, which uses wheel speed sensors to watch for driveline-damaging wheel hop at launch and modify the engine torque to regain a full grip. All this power is excellent, but you're going to need robust safety features to help balance it out. Luckily, the Durango SRT Hellcat has you covered with a full suite of safety features including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, and Advanced Brake Assist.
