2021 RAM 1500 Power & Handling
Four engines are available for the Ram 1500 with each one being more powerful than the last. Standard is a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with Ram's eTorque system which helps improve the fuel economy and the engines stop and start smoothness. Several optional engines are available for the Ram 1500 with the first being a 5.7-liter V8 that scorches the pavement with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, which is available with or without the eTorque. Are you looking for a diesel-powered engine? Ram gives it to you in the form of a diesel-powered turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that comes with 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. New to the Ram lineup this year is the TRX which has a turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 that pounds the pavement with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. There are a couple of engine options available for the Silverado and each is pretty powerful. The Silverado also starts off with a V6 engine and in this case, it's a 4.3-liter V6 that pumps out 285 horsepower which pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. Optional is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder that gets you 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Silverado has a 5.3-liter V8 that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Like the Ram, the Silverado has a diesel option which is a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel six-cylinder that comes with 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. While these power numbers are decent, they do pale in comparison to the Ram 1500.
2021 RAM 1500 Features & Design
Seven impressive trim levels are available for the Ram 1500 with amazing features on each. Starting things is the Tradesman which comes with 18-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, trailer sway damping, and a 5-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker stereo. Adding to this is the Big Horn which has either an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Off-road features can be found with the Rebel trim which delivers hill descent control, four underbody skid plates, an electronic locking rear axle, upgraded shocks, and all-terrain tires. Meanwhile, higher trims give you more luxury features such as leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, side steps, reclining heated rear seats, four-corner air suspension, wireless charging pad, and premium leather bucket seats. New to the Ram 1500 is the TRX trim which has performance-enhanced features such as a head-up display, reverse steering control, and RamBox cargo storage.
2021 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design
Eight trims are available for the Silverado and there are some interesting features that are available in each. The Work Truck is the base trim and it comes with 17-inch steel wheels, a locking tailgate, vinyl seat upholstery, air conditioning, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Adding to this is the Custom which has n updated appearance and remote engine start, LED cargo bed lighting, power and heated mirrors, Wi-Fi capability, and power-locking with a power-releasing tailgate with assisted lift. Off-road features can be found with the Custom Trail Boss which has four-wheel-drive, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and an automatic locking rear differential. Higher trims offer more luxury are tech features such as dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, wireless phone charger, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a Bose audio system.
