Today the automotive industry is going through a significant change with the shift towards more sustainable mobility. FIAT hopes to play a role in that revolution with the release of the new FIAT 500e, which will help introduce Americans to a more electric future. The FIAT 500e is beyond cool, like the ultimate fashion accessory, and it will only be available as an electric vehicle. During a press conference at the LA Auto Show, FIAT unveiled three 500e concepts reflecting Italian craftsmanship, creativity, and sophistication. Below we will go over all these concepts have to offer!Â
500 Giorgio Armani
The undisputed king of Italian elegance is, of course, Giorgio Armani, and he was brought in to interpret the style. His haute couture house gave their interpretation of the electric 500 and named it the 500 Armani in the name of timeless tailoring and sustainability. Using impeccable laser technology, Armani wanted to shape the metal covering of the FIAT 500e's bodywork. With highly-exclusive micro-chevron engraving, which brings it as close as possible to the three dimensions of fabric while creating a two-tone effect without adding polluting paint. The net result is a "silk effect" color, and what's more, the opaque paint used for the exterior is highly innovative. The interior further accentuates these nuances as the seats are upholstered in certified full-grain natural leather sourced from Poltrona Frau in a "greyge" color with micro-chevron wool bands taken from the best leather goods.
500 Kartell
There is even more creativity and innovation regarding the 500e Kartell concept, from the iconic brand of Italian industrial design, which is constantly experimented with and researches new functions for plastics. In recent years, Kartell has been involved in more sustainable plastics. The 500e Kartell is an ideal mixture of materials that come together to breathe life into a truly contemporary design. The outside of the 500e Kartell comes with a monoblock color concept which contains all kinds of different materials, such as metal, glass, rubber, plastic, and fabric, that are all interpreted by the same color, which is Kartell blue which is iconic to the brand. In addition, the surfaces of the bodywork are mirror-effect Kartell blue, with an effect obtained with environmentally friendly chrome paint. The most symbolic elements of the exterior, in addition to the color effect, are the main components made from polycarbonate recycled from end-of-life parabolic projectors and used on the front grille. These objects also featured a unique design inspired by the pattern of Kartell's Kabuki lamp and developed and created by designer Ferruccio Laviani to further lead the vehicle's identity.
B.500 MAI TROPPO
This concept for the Fiat 500e pays homage to craftsmanship and beauty, as the Fiat 500 has always played a role in La Dolce Vita, an Italian icon born from the love of beauty and art. The newest interpreter of these values is Bvlgari, an emblem of Italian excellence and a brand that has been rewriting the rules of world jewelry over the years and even launching new trends that are icons of contemporary design. This new Fiat 500e is a true gem with an interior that only uses the finest of materials that have been embellished with attention to detail and unique finishes that will call to mind the vivid and unmistakeable combinations of colors and motifs that accentuate Bvlgari's Roman origins. This concept vehicle comes with a saffron-colored pearlescent paint, an iconic shade at Bvlgari inspired by Roman sunsets. The effect is further enhanced by nuance in its painting, produced by professional hands-on technique. The wheels also come with black lacquer with gold trim and a side "jewel" badge in polished gold, with a diamond-paved B 500 logo. The seats are encased in leather with a "Diva" pattern embroidery, gold details, and scarf inserts. The crown jewel of the interior is the semi-precious stones amethyst, topaz, and citrine, which are set in a broach and placed at the center of the steering wheel.Â
