What is the Ram REV Electric Truck

The Ram 1500 REV is somewhat reminiscent of the Ram 1500 in its current form. However, designers worked hard to modernize it and have it capture the electric future we're heading toward. The modernized look begins with an updated grille featuring a redesigned 'RAM' emblem outlined in LED lights. On either side of the grille, you'll see LED headlights with a new 'tuning fork' design. Due to the absence of an internal combustion engine, the grille has no openings for engine airflow, adding to the modern appearance of the front end. These features are drawn from the Ram Revolution BEV concept truck. Also from the concept is the front trunk, otherwise known as frunk, to provide additional storage space in place of the internal combustion engine. The frunk lid is powered to provide easy access to the frunk and its contents. The production model uses the current Ram 1500's crew cab body with a five-foot-seven-inch bed. The side profile gains sharp lines for an aggressive appearance, adding to the Ram 1500 REV's heroic stance. The REV will also feature Ram's multi-function tailgate, featuring a 60/40 split that allows the tailgate to swing open or fold down. This allows for easier access to the bed's cargo while a trailer is linked up. Also available is the RamBox external cargo system, which can be used as a toolbox, additional storage, and even a cooler!

As electric vehicle powertrain technology advances, so do the technologies found inside electric vehicles. Therefore, the interior of the Ram 1500 REV is equipped with the latest in infotainment and safety technologies. The center stack will feature a touchscreen similar to the available 12-inch touchscreen optional for the current Ram 1500. The infotainment system will provide access to Smart Home Control. If equipped, this allows you to control your smart home's thermostats, lights, and more. Currently available features such as a wireless charging pad, cordless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and more are set to be standard equipment for the Ram 1500 REV. Ram has stated that the Ram 1500 REV will offer more technology, luxury, and comfort than any truck they've produced thus far!

As we mentioned above, Ram is aiming to lead the electric truck segment in towing capacity, payload, range, and charging time with the Ram 1500 REV. To lead the class in terms of towing capacity, the engineers are targeting over 10,000 pounds of towing capacity, which will best the current EV trucks. The 800-volt architecture provides the REV with 350 kilowatts when using a Level III DC Fast Charger. This gives it as much as 100 miles of range in approximately ten minutes. For a total driving range, Ram is targeting 500 miles, also beating out the competition. Instead of using an internal combustion engine and a four-wheel drive system, the Ram 1500 REV uses an electric drive module (EDM) on each axle to provide all-wheel drive for superb performance both on and off the road. The location of the EDMs is larger than the normal size to make space for future high-performance applications from larger EDMs. Ram hasn't released the 1500 REV's official performance and efficiency numbers yet. However, we anticipate the numbers will certainly impress and excite! In addition to all-wheel drive, the REV will use height-adjustable air suspension, which provides better aerodynamics for on-road driving and greater ground clearance during off-road situations. Four-wheel steering will be available for the REV, allowing for phenomenal maneuverability when entering or exiting tight parking spaces and off-roading.
